Female Hair Transplant In Bangladesh: Success Rate, Procedure And More

In contemporary times, there has been a noticeable increase in female hair loss, affecting approximately one in five women. This condition can be attributed to factors such as aging, illnesses, or hormonal changes. Women often encounter widespread thinning across their scalp, with some experiencing more pronounced patches of hair loss. In response to this concern, many women try various remedies such as oils, medications, wigs, or extensions, but the hair loss process persists. When these remedies prove ineffective, some opt for hair transplant as a viable solution.

In female hair transplant surgery, specialized mini grafts are employed to address the thinning areas. For a candidate to be eligible for a female hair transplant, they need to possess a dense donor area with a sufficient thickness of grafts. The mini grafts are meticulously extracted from the dense donor area and then skillfully implanted into the thinning areas to create a denser and fuller appearance. The results of this surgical procedure effectively conceal the previously thin areas, offering a renewed sense of confidence and aesthetics.

Patient Evaluation

When it comes to female baldness, a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of its history is crucial for achieving clear and visually satisfying surgical results, as compared to men. The assessment must delve into various factors, ensuring they are well-managed and under control. These factors encompass diabetes, thyroid issues, stress levels, ongoing medications, hormonal imbalances, iron deficiencies, malnutrition, and more. Once the stages of hair loss are classified, the number of grafts required can be determined, and the procedure can be planned accordingly.

Prior to proceeding with the hair transplant, it is essential to ensure that the donor area exhibits sufficient strength. To achieve this, patients are often advised to commence hair medications that promote the development of robust hair strands in the donor region. This ensures the longevity and overall success of the hair transplant procedure.

Donor & Recipient Site Evaluation

After completing the surgical planning, a critical step involves the mandatory assessment of the donor area. During this evaluation, we meticulously note various factors, including follicular unit density, interfollicular unit distance, hair shaft diameter, color, texture, and the overall strength of the hair strands. For optimal results, it is essential that the graft units contain an average of 2-3 hairs per unit. If the average falls below 1.5 hairs, the outcome may not be satisfactory.

The type of donor hair also significantly impacts the final results. Coarse, wavy hair with a larger diameter tends to yield a thicker and more aesthetically pleasing outcome compared to straight, narrow, and silky donor hair. Taking these aspects into consideration ensures achieving the desired density and visual appeal during the hair transplant procedure.

Technique Female Hair Transplant

The technique is same as mens FUE hair transplant. But there are few points to be followed among all patients:

To focus on thinned patch & avoid damage of surrounding hair follicles.

Preserve donor area and harvest only the required number of grafts.

 Use grafts of multiple hair

At our clinic, we employ the innovative Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) technique for hair implantation after performing FUE harvesting. This approach is chosen to prevent any damage to the surrounding grafts and to avoid the need for shaving the recipient area. We understand that, like men, females also have cosmetic concerns and may not want to shave their hair during the procedure. With DHI, we ensure a minimally invasive and aesthetically pleasing experience for our female clients.

Recovery

The recovery process for females after hair transplant surgery is generally faster compared to men. However, certain special precautions must be taken due to specific post-operative requirements. For the initial 7 days after the procedure, the recipient area is sprayed with NS (normal saline), which keeps the scalp damp. During this period, it's essential to refrain from combing the hair to prevent dislodging of the grafts. Proper and extra care is vital for ensuring the health and hygiene of the transplanted hair in female hair transplant cases.
